The ideals of peace and justice require that those working for peace and justice should come together at some point — better sooner than later. That’s the main reason behind the Nepal Dialogues initiative of NFRJ. The Nepal Dialogues is aimed at starting meaningful and sustained conversations on issues of peace and justice facing our societies. As the name suggests, dialogue entails learning (rather than just talking) and mutuality (rather than isolation), so that we all grow together, empower each other, and contribute to our collective goals of peacebuilding and justice. The Nepal Dialogues is a collaboration of like-spirited organizations where we currently act as its Secretariat.
The first round of Nepal Dialogues kicked off on 25 January 2019 and since then, NFRJ has undertaken many events on dialogue and peacebuilding across across 5 provinces. Under the Nepal Dialogues, NFRJ has initiated discussions on the promotion of culture of dialogue in Nepal, the role of intercultural dialogue in peacebuilding in Nepal and the policy dialogues.
In 2022, this initiative was given a broader scope through the inauguration of Dialogue Resources Center, inauguration of the Secretariat by various dialogue practicing institutions and individuals. A website dedicate to dialogue called www.nepaldialogues.org has also been launched.
