Nepal Dialogues Initiatives organized its second annual summit Nepal Dialogues Summit on 20 and 21 November 2023 in Kathmandu. The event was successfully organized with the participation of 129 individuals representing various non-governmental and governmental organizations.
The event was formally inaugurated by Honorable Sudan Kristi, Minister for Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation, Government of Nepal who expressed that dialogue is at the roots of Nepali culture. The keynote speaker Prof Miriam Coronel-Ferrer and Michael Croft, Head of Agency and Country Representative, UNESCO, among the speakers highlighted on the significance of dialogue in conflict resolution and transformation.
Attended by 37 organizations, the two-day Summit included sessions on the role of governments on dialogue, advocacy pathways for inclusion and social change and ended with a Kathmandu Declaration on the use of dialogue in peaceful transitions.
