Nepal Forum for Restorative Justice has published a two-pager information sheet on Youth, Peace and Security as launched by the United Nations through its Security Council Resolution 2250. The first worldwide policy framework to acknowledge the constructive role that youth play in preventing and resolving conflict and establishing lasting peace is UN Security Council Resolution 2250 (2015). This thematic resolution addresses youth issues from the perspective of global peace and security. A global policy framework in 2015 approvedby UNSC examines how conflict affects young people’s life, required actions to be taken to lessen those consequences and youths’ contribution to the development of peaceful communities. The Security Council has since passed two resolutions that are specifically addressed to YPS. Resolution 2419 was approved by the Security Council in 2018, while Resolution 2535 was adopted in 2020.
