Human Rights-Based Approach for Local Governments

Nepal Forum for Restorative Justice in collaboration with National Human Rights Commission organized a national workshop on human rights based approach for local governments on 26 September, 2023. The event was organized as a part of the project to foster human-rights approach in the functioning of local governments as they are now the most proximate governments responding to the needs of the communities.

The event was organized in Kathmandu and it saw a participation of 24 officials, mostly representing the local governments (municipalities and rural municipalities) in and around Kathmandu.

The National Human Rights Commission and NFRJ are preparing a manual and resource book on the subject of human-rights based approach for local governments and this is meant to be used a standard tool for reference and capacity-building for local governments as they roll out activities.
